Mini Med School

Mini Med School Summer Studentships are intended to provide well-motivated students, with records of exceptional academic performance, an opportunity to work closely with Mini Med School Faculty. 

Successful candidates have the opportunity to work at BC Children's Hospital on a specific research project over 6-weeks between July and August and will receive a stipend of $1,500. Funding for up to 4 studentships have been generously provided by BC’s Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Hannah Rahim
, a Mulgrave School alumni, will be working with Dr. Wendy Norman this summer. Hannah's project will focus on evidence-informed family planning policy and practice to improve health and health equity.

Matthew Sonnenberg, a EBUS Academy/BrainBoost Education alumni, will be working with Dr. Mark Ansermino this summer. Matthew will be studying the defining operating characteristics of mobile devices.

Helen Wu, a Magee Secondary alumni, will also be working with Dr. Mark Ansermino this summer. Helen will be reviewing global Health funding opportunities.
 

Application Process

Application forms will be accepted from students in grade 12 taking senior high school science courses who have attended all the previous year's Mini Med School sessions (students who have watched the sessions online are not eligible to apply).

**Note applicants must be at least 16 years of age or turning 16 years of age within 3 months of the application deadline to meet the minimum safety standards for working onsite.
