Research Training

Research trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical research fellows) at BC Children's Hospital have access to world class researchers, state of the art equipment, specialized facilities, funding, and research education opportunities.

The research community onsite is home to more than 200+ University of British Columbia faculty members that provide supervision and mentorship to research trainees in a variety of research areas related to improving the health of children and families. Graduate Students

To view prospective research supervisors at BC Children's Hospital search 'Our Researchers', contact information is provided so you can speak to the research team directly about available opportunities. Once a training opportunity is established contact UBC's Faculty Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for further information on the application process.

Faculty members may also be eligible to supervise graduate students enrolled in Directed Studies Courses at UBC, including: Experimental Medicine, Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics. Contact UBC's Faculty Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for further information on the application process.

Postdoctoral Fellows & Clinical Research Fellows

International Trainees

Seeking research credit to fulfill degree requirement of home institution? Visiting trainees may be eligible to obtain research credit at their home institution by engaging in research training opportunities at BC Children's Hospital. Contact the UBC's Faculty Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for further information on the application process.

Note that visiting students engaged in research activities who are not taking courses may be required to pay a non-credit activity and student fees. Supervisors may cover these costs however this is at their discretion. For more information review the International Student Guide.
