As clinical head of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic at BC’s Children’s Hospital, I have engaged in research and consultation on psychopharmacological and cognitive-behavioral treatment of mood and anxiety disorders in young people. I provide consultation services to community mental health, schools and government regarding evidence-based prevention, early intervention and treatment programs for children and adolescents. I have developed innovative teaching materials for children and families on managing anxiety and depression, and am currently developing an evaluation study for a new parent training module for the Taming Worry Dragons program. My team is currently conducting a study of intensive behavioral treatment for childhood selective mutism, a disabling anxiety disorder.
