The Child & Family Research Imaging Facility is now the BC Children’s Hospital MRI Research Facility. This name change aligns the facility with the new BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute name and brand.

The facility has just completed major equipment and software upgrades in an effort to continue supporting advanced pediatric and neuroimaging work.

The MRI Research Facility was established with a grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation New Initiatives Fund and matching funds from the BC Knowledge Development Fund and Mining for Miracles (through the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation).

A core research facility at BC Children’s Hospital, the MRI Research Facility is the only fully accredited, child-specialized, very high-field (3 Tesla) MRI research facility in BC. Among the first of its kind in Canada, it is a unique research facility for the broader Provincial Health Services Authority and the University of British Columbia communities.

The MRI Research Facility invites researchers who have not yet had the opportunity to incorporate MRI in their work to explore opportunities for collaboration. Visit the MRI Research Facility website to find out how you can get started with your research.
