Facility Director, BCCH MRI Research Facility

My research focuses on the application of multi-modality functional neuroimaging methods, which link abnormalities of neurological function to demonstrable alterations of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, and thereby enhance understanding of neurological disorders in infants, children and young adults with stroke, brain injuries (e.g., sports concussions), epilepsy and other neurological disorders, which have impact upon developing brain networks (connectomics), especially those involving language, perception and motor function. I collaborate with regional, national and international colleagues to evaluate and enhance neurological care outcomes, using pediatric MRI simulation, neuroinformatics and neurotechnology development to deliver advanced pediatric functional MRI brain mapping methodologies, optimized for children through ongoing quality improvement and translational personalized pediatric neurological care research.
