My academic interests lie in examining the utilization of healthcare resources, such as emergency department use by patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, and physicians' practice patterns during routine clinical care. These results allow us to target interventions to improve responsible resource use and antibiotic prescribing.

COVID-19 Impact on Pediatric Emergency Departments
We're exploring how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected how frequently and how urgently patients are using the pediatric emergency departments (PED) across Canada.Reducing Emergency Department Crowding
We are evaluating parental preferences and patient characteristics associated with diversion of patients from the pediatric emergency department to outpatient care, as a first step toward reducing ED overcrowding.Emergency Department Clinician Practice Patterns
This study will describe emergency department clinician practice patterns in the diagnosis and management of urinary tract infections, and how closely we are complying with established national guidelines.
BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute brings Mini Science Night to Salmon Arm
Scheduled for May 2, in Salmon Arm, BC, Mini Science Night is a public lecture that explores the newest discoveries and innovations in health research. Admission is free and everyone in the community is welcome to attend, including students, teachers, parents, seniors, and local health-care professionals. There are 50 seats available to the public when registration opens on April 2.
