Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and the 'Omic' Spectrum of Autism
Learn how researchers are working to improve the standard and delivery of care to children, youth and families who are struggling with obsessive compulsive and related disorders (OCRD) throughout British Columbia. Participants will also hear about the Provincial OCD Program (POP) and how it integrates research, clinical care and training into a one-of-a-kind program in Canada. The iTARGET-Autism Research Program is subgrouping "The Autisms" through comprehensive deep phenome, genome, metabolome, microbiome and proteome discoveries. This presentation provides an overview of how these various 'omes' contribute to a precision medicine approach for not only understanding autism's symptoms, but also its cause. Presented by Dr. S. Evelyn Stewart, Investigator & Director of Research for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, BC Children's Hospital; Medical Director, BCCH Provincial OCD Program (POP); Professor, Department of Psychiatry, UBC. | Dr. Suzanne Lewis, Investigator, BC Children's Hospital; Director, Autism SPectrum Interdisciplinary REsearch (ASPIRE) Program; Chair, iTARGET Autism; Co-Chair, Autism Canada; Chief Medical Officer & VP Research, Pacific Autism Family Network; Clinical Professor, Department of Medical Genetics, UBC.
