Interested in attending Mini Med School?
Registration opens on Monday, January 13, 2025! The registration form will be available on this page starting at 4:00 pm that day and will stay open until all spots are filled.
Who can register? Grade 10-12 students currently enrolled in a Yukon secondary school. Please note, space is limited to the first 60 students that register.

What do you need to register?
Make sure you have the following information ready to complete your registration form:
- Your name, email address, grade and school name
- Your parent/guardian's name and email address
- A brief answer (150 words or less) to this question: Why are you interested in attending Mini Med School? What do you hope to gain from participating?
What do you need to attend?
- Permission from your parent/guardian and your school to miss class on Friday, March 28, 2025
- Transportation to the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre, located at 1171 Front Street, Whitehorse. Mini Med School runs from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Who can attend Mini Med School? Any grade 10-12 student who is currently enrolled in a Yukon secondary schools. Teachers are invited but not required to attend. Interested teachers can contact researchevents@phsa.ca to register.
How do we select who attends? Mini Med School is a popular program and we often have more registration requests than spots available. To keep it fair, we’ll go with a first come, first served system. If you don’t get a spot, you’ll be placed on a waitlist and contacted if a spot opens up.
Mini Med School strives to empower youth and promote an equitable and inclusive learning environment. Further space is available for students who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis. Students will be asked to self-identify as Indigenous on the registration form.
Do I need to have high marks in science to participate? No, you don’t need top grades in science to join, but a passion for health sciences is important!
What is the learning environment like? The Mini Med School curriculum is tailored for high school students and includes lectures and hands-on activities, similar to a post-secondary seminar. Some students might find this format challenging, so please consider your own learning style before registering.
Does Mini Med School include any assignments or tests? No, you won't have to complete any assignments or tests. While some students like to take notes, it’s optional.
Can grade 12 students that attend apply for a scholarship?
Yes! Grade 12 students who attend Mini Med School Yukon program have the chance to unlock a scholarship opportunity.
