I am interested in the child and family centered care of children with cerebral palsy and other neuromotor diagnoses experiencing orthopaedic issues. As a physiotherapist in the Orthopaedic Clinic at BCCH, I am part of an interdisciplinary team of providers providing routine monitoring and perioperative management of children with complex care needs throughout the province and beyond.

Orthopaedic Complications in Children with Rett Syndrome
The purpose of this study is to investigate the natural history and characteristics of hip displacement and scoliosis in children with Rett syndrome. There are two parts to this study: a retrospective review and prospective arm. We are hoping to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of other orthopaedic sequelae of Rett syndrome, including deformities/contractures of the knee, foot and ankle requiring surgical management and rate of fragility fractures.Surgical Outcomes for Unilateral vs Bilateral Hip Surgeries
A retrospective review of complications and long-term outcomes for children with CP having undergone hip reconstruction surgery by single event bilateral, staged bilateral, and unilateral hip procedures.Assessing the Impact of COVID-19 on Health Resource Utilization by Pediatric Patients with Cerebral Palsy
The objectives of the study are to evaluate service use by children (and caregivers) with CP across the GMFCS levels during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the type and frequency of service utilization. We hope to compare service utilization after the onset of the pandemic to data collected in a previous survey administered prior to the pandemic.GrantsE2i Seed Grant: "Orthopaedic Complications in Children with Rett Syndrome"
