Health Informatics Essentials: Understanding the Basics + Using Data Analytics in Pediatric Anesthesia and Surgery to Improve Family-Relevant Outcomes

Health informatics is an interdisciplinary field that brings together technology and data to enhance health care, improve patient outcomes, and streamline fundamental operations. In this presentation, we will explore the key foundational concepts of health informatics and discover how they're applied in health-care settings. Take a closer look at how we collaborate with families and health-care providers to improve health services. In this presentation, you’ll discover how we combine feedback from families, evaluations on the performance and quality of services, and clinical data to improve decision-making and personalized care in pediatric anesthesia and surgery. We will also investigate the engineering design process, look at the opportunities and challenges we face, and discuss the benefits of co-designing solutions that work for families and clinicians.
