For academic research and not for profit organizations wishing to collaborate

For collaborative studies — where we are involved as a co-author on publications — we can make available isolates at the lowest possible cost. Currently we charge:

1. A single fixed fee of $185 to account for the time involved in processing biohazard MTAs etc.

2. $20 per isolate for materials and time to recover the isolates from the freezer and place them on transport swabs for shipping.

For academic research and not for profit organizations who would like isolates as a service

For non-collaborative studies we can make provide isolates with the proviso of including the CBCCRRR as an acknowledgement. Currently we charge:

1. A single fixed fee of $185 to account for the time involved in processing biohazard MTAs etc.

2. $40 per isolate for materials and time to recover the isolates from the freezer and place them on transport swabs for shipping.

Why do you charge for isolates?

To recover costs for materials and technician time used to provide this service.

Conditions of provision

You agree that any isolates provided to you by CBCCRRR is not sent to other laboratories. Anyone requiring one of these isolates should be directed to cbccrrr@bcchr.ca.

How will the isolates be provided

We ship isolates on charcoal transport swabs. In our experience isolates are viable for multiple weeks on these swabs and so survive shipping well.
