Dr. Megan Levings and her team have recently published two papers on the very different functions and uses of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Tregs are immune cells that help to rein in immune responses to ensure that they don’t go too far and begin harming healthy tissues in their pursuit of foreign invaders.
Dr. Juliana Negreiros, in collaboration with Anxiety Canada and the Ministry of Children and Family Development, helped develop a province-wide package of classroom resources for K-7 educators designed to help students manage everyday worries and anxiety. These resources, called EASE (Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Educators), are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles and align directly with the BC Ministry of Education curriculum.
EASE workshops and resources are available for Primary (K-3) and Intermediate (4-7) educators and are provided at no cost to BC teachers, school counsellors and other educators who participate in one day of interactive professional development. For more information, please visit Healthy Minds BC.
