Our neonatal neurology research group aims to better understand brain development and injury in the newborn. We study how a baby’s critical care experience influences their risk of brain injury and their trajectory of brain development using advanced magnetic resonance (MR) techniques and bedside brain monitoring. A better understanding of the factors that impact brain development and injury is enabling us to support the neurodevelopmental outcomes of children born preterm or with congenital heart disease.
