Canadian National Vaccine Safety (CANVAS) Network
The CANVAS Network is a national platform that monitors vaccine safety after vaccines are approved for use and includes approximately 500,000 people each year who receive their COVID-19, influenza (seasonal and/or other influenza) and RSV vaccine. The purpose of this study is to monitor adverse events (side effects) after a vaccine, using an online survey. CANVAS complements Canada's passive vaccine safety surveillance system by providing rapid information in the early stages of each vaccine campaign.
This is the 10th year of CANVAS surveillance. The Vaccine Evaluation Center (VEC) acts as the coordinating center for CANVAS nationwide surveillance program in addition to undertaking the provincial CANVAS surveillance.
