The BCCHR Trainee 'Omics Group was formed by a motivated group of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. We aim to bring together wet- and dry-lab scientists from across the institute and provide a centralized resource for learning data analysis skills - for complete beginners, novices, or intermediate-level coders.
- The Trainee 'Omics Group arranges workshops (~3 hours long) and tutorials (1 hour long) on the analysis of a myriad of data types such as genomics SNP data, RNA-seq, bisulfite sequencing / methylation, ChIP-seq, flow cytometry, and microarrays.
- We also have regular drop-in sessions to discuss specific analysis doubts, where one of our talented Council members can assist you with your study design or coding snafus.
- Lastly, we have monthly seminars wherein we invite faculty to share their research, or alternately open the floor up to two trainees to showcase a Work-in-Progress (WIP) presentation.
