The BCCHR Trainee 'Omics Group was formed by a motivated group of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. We aim to bring together wet- and dry-lab scientists from across the institute and provide a centralized resource for learning data analysis skills - for complete novices and intermediate-level coders.

  • Workshops: The Trainee 'Omics Group delivers beginner and intermediate workshops on the analysis of a myriad of data types such as genomics SNP data, RNA-seq, bisulfite sequencing / methylation, ChIP-seq, flow cytometry, and microarrays. All of our workshop scripts are stored on our GitHub.
  • One-on-one Help: We also have regular drop-in sessions to discuss specific analysis doubts, where one of our talented Council members can assist you with your study design or coding snafus.
  • Seminars: We hold monthly seminars wherein we invite faculty to share their research, or alternately open the floor up to trainees to showcase a Work-in-Progress (WIP) presentation.

Check out our 'Events' page to learn more about our upcoming workshops, drop-in sessions, and seminars!
