Monica Ho

Research Coordinator, Solid-Organ Transplant Research Program

Monica is a biology graduate from UBC and joined the Blydt-Hansen research team as a research coordinator in June 2021. She provides general administrative oversight in the lab and works on multiple projects. A few studies that she is currently involved with include ACCENT, HOPE SOT and some upcoming trials.

Amy completed her Master’s degree in Experimental Medicine at UBC. She joined the Blydt-Hansen research team as a Research Assistant in November 2023. She is primarily involved in transplant-focused research, including the HOPE SOT, SOT Biobank, and NAPRTCS studies.

Bhavana Gourish

Bhavana Gourish (she/her)

MOT Research Assistant, Blydt-Hansen Research Team

Bhavana is a BSc Biology graduate from UBC. She joined the Blydt-Hansen laboratory in August 2024. She currently focuses on research that studies chronic kidney diseases in young children and adolescents as well as psychosocial difficulties that impact transplant families. A few studies she is currently involved in are CKiD, Family Study, TREAT Covid, as well as the TRIO studies.

Fun fact: I am a professionally trained Indian classical singer since the age of four and made appearances on Indian idol!

Phillip Ly

Phillip Ly

Research Assistant, Blydt-Hansen Research Team

Phillip is an Immunology and Neuroscience graduate from the University of Toronto. He joined the Blydt-Hansen research team as a research assistant in January 2025. He is involved in chronic kidney disease and transplant-related projects, including FIT4KID, PROACT, and SOT Biobank.

Minh Nguyen

Work-learn Research Assistant

Minh joined the team in September 2023 and recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition at UBC. Minh's main focus is working on the lab's clinical and research databases, including HOPE SOT, CXCL-10 and IL-6 Testing Programs.

Linkai Liu

Linkai Liu

Research Assistant, Blydt-Hansen Research Team

Linkai is an Integrated Sciences student at the University of British Columbia, with a concentration in Pharmacology and Public Health. He joined the Blydt-Hansen research team in May 2025 and supports the Solid Organ Transplant (SOT) Program. He currently works on the SOT Biobank, PROACT Study, and HOPE SOT Database, contributing to data management, patient chart reviews, and literature support for transplant-focused research.

Caitlyn is a fourth year Biochemistry student from UBC. She joined the Blydt-Hansen research team as an undergraduate research assistant in June 2025.
