- Onboarding Q&A
-
I'm working offsite for the summer, do I still need to complete the Criminal Record Check and online training courses? Yes! Students working offsite are still affiliated with BC Children's Hospital and have access to documents, resources and software. The standard Onboarding process is still required.
The Criminal Record Check requires my ID be verified in-person. How do I do that if I'm not onsite? Your supervisor can now verify your ID via videochat to support physical distancing protocols. Verifying via email is also acceptable but not preferred.
I'm a new supervisor onboarding a student, where do I find additional details on what is expected? Visit the Getting Started Onsite page on the ResearchHub or contact hr@bcchr.ca.*Depending on your responsibilities, you may also be required to take additional training courses. Check with your supervisor for requirements in your research area or refer to the UBC Policies & Guidelines*
