Understanding statistics is essential for health science researchers. Unfortunately, understanding statistics isn’t always easy.
The following 6-part statistical video series was created specifically for students enrolled in the BCCHR Summer Student Research Program. The videos and resources are intended to make learning accessible and provide an introduction to statistical terms and concepts regardless of background and experience. No prior knowledge of statistics is required.
These short on-demand videos have been designed for flexibility, so videos can be watched on your own time. Please note these will not count towards your summer program attendance. Content has been created to build on knowledge, so we recommend you watch videos 1-5 in numerical order. Video 6 is not part of the series and can be viewed at any point.
The BCCHR Statistical Video Series was made possible due to the generous support of the University of British Columbia and the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF).
This series content was created in summer 2021 by our team of graduate student subject matter experts:
- Deema Alhusari, Graduate Student, Vercauteren Research Team
- Alysha Deslippe, Health Promotion Project Manager/Graduate Student, Mâsse Research Team
- Jimmy Lopez, Graduate Student, Bettinger Research Team
- Nikita Telkar, Graduate Student, Robinson & Wan Lam Research Teams
