I need to sign up for a BCCHR network login?
A new BCCHR network login will be requested by your research team during the onboarding process. For questions about onboarding, please contact hr@bcchr.ca.
I need IT or facilities support?
Please login to the BCCHR Support Portal to submit tickets for IT or Facilities support. The Research Information Technology Team is available to help with aspects such as hardware, software (REDCap, SPSS), network and security support related to research activities. The Research Facilities Team is responsible for overseeing security access cards, office keys, phone extensions, health and safety, space operations and access to research areas throughout BCCHR.
I have questions about receiving BCCHR e-communications?
Once the onboarding process is done, students will automatically receive e-communications such as BCCHR newsletters and institute announcements. The Research Communications Team can help answer your questions about e-communications.
I want to use REDCap?
REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a web-based, metadata-driven EDC software solution and workflow methodology for designing and capturing data for research studies. To register for an account, contact the BCCHR Data Management Team. To request general REDCap support, submit a ticket through the Support Portal (under "Clinical Research Support").
I need to access SPSS Statistics Software?
Research community members are now able to use IBM SPSS Statistics software without having to purchase an individual license. For more information and access instructions, please contact BCCHR IT by submitting a ticket through the Support Portal.
I need help with study design, methodology or statistics?
The Clinical Research Support Unit (CRSU) consultants help plan studies to ensure that research questions can be answered from a statistical point of view. Biostatistics consultation encompasses study design and the accompanying statistical analysis.
I want to access the C&W Clinical Research Study Catalogue?
The Study Catalogue is securely hosted by the Research Institute and is available only through the research and hospital networks (PHSA and BCCHR) on the Oak Street Campus. For questions, contact studycatalogue@bcchr.ca.
I have questions about an ethics application?

I need a logo or template for a presentation?
Check out the Branding and Templates pages on the ResearchHub. For questions on this, contact the Research Communications Team at comm@bcchr.ca. You can also check with your supervisor to see if your research team has any preferred templates.
I have a general inquiry for a research theme?
We have four research themes: Childhood Diseases, Brain, Behaviour & Development, Healthy Starts and Evidence to Innovation. For more information, contact the Theme Managers or Coordinators.
I need a quiet place to study?
At the Research Institute, the David Hardwick Reading Room (Room 3051, BCCHR) includes a quiet study space. Additionally, Learning & Development has partnered with the UBC Faculty of Medicine to provide a Study & Learning Commons for all students on the Oak Street Campus.
I need to book a meeting room onsite?
BC Children's Hospital has a wide variety of facilities available for your event or meeting, with the capacity to accommodate groups ranging in size from 6 to 200. To book a space, contact Research Facilities Management.
I have a suggestions for a workshop or a seminar idea in the future?
The Research Education Office supports the development of an enhanced, multidisciplinary learning environment by providing opportunities to augment research skills, knowledge and attitudes. Contact reseduc@bcchr.ca for details.
