The Silent Genomes Project General Meeting 2024

The Silent Genomes General Meeting took place on February 12th and 13th, 2024, in Victoria, BC, in a hybrid format allowing attendees to participate both in-person and virtually. The meeting brought together partners, co-investigators, team members, and friends to discuss the progress and challenges of the core Silent Genomes Project (2018-2024) and gather input on future steps.

The Silent Genomes 2021 Annual Meeting was held on November 18th and 19th, 2021. With respect to the continuous COVID-19 precautions, this year's meeting was virtual again. The meeting agenda was organized to provide the time for communication between the team members and partners and include progress reports by the Activity Leads and team members.

The Silent Genomes 2020 Annual Meeting took place online on Friday, November 27th 9:00am-12:00pm PST. The meeting agenda included progress reports on the four activities along with feedback and questions, as well as our COVID-19 pandemic strategy especially for community engagement.

Annual Gathering, Victoria, 2019

Our yearly face-to face meeting was held in Victoria, BC on November 21-22nd, 2019. The purpose of this gathering 18 months into the project was to bring together the Silent Genomes team and our partners to gather insights and feedback on the governance strategy, development of the Indigenous Background Variant Library (IBVL), and provide an update on Activities 1-4.

'Gathering Ceremony', the launch of Silent Genomes, was held in Victoria, BC on July 18th-19th, 2018. The purpose of this gathering was to bring together the Silent Genomes project team, the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners, and other stakeholders.
